Western Electric 20AL Telephone with Subset Box

One of the most common candlesticks out there, the 20AL was Western Electrics primary manual candlestick for much of the early 20th century. It could be finished in black or nickel depending on house decor. These phones always needed a subset box. These boxes contained all the electronics which did not fit inside the desk set itself. This subset in particular is a magneto subset. When cranked, magnetos generated power which alerted the operator or other parties.
